A couple’s ability to conceive and maintain a healthy pregnancy is commonly a reflection of the overall health of both individuals, and environmental factors within their bodies which influence reproductive health and thus impact on their fertile potential at a given time.

While many patients with fertility issues have explainable biomedical causes such as: ovulation or hormonal disorders (eg PCOS), physical problems (eg endometriosis, fibroids or tubal problems), age or the quantity/quality of eggs, medical and family history issues (e.g. autoimmune conditions).

Many do not and fall into a grey area where conceiving is just taking a longer time than expected. Put simply, they have been unsuccessful in  conceiving naturally for a given period of time and some have not been provided clear answers as to why.
